It’s been a while. Let’s recap. Welp, for starters, it’s the end of the year! Soon it will be 2024. With that said, how about I review the year?

First, I traveled to five countries — two of which were new countries for me. In the summer, I visited Puerto Rico, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Costa Rica. It was my first time visiting Ecuador. I recorded videos of my travels and created a two month long pipeline of videos to be uploaded after my travels. Here’s a look at video summary of my travels.

Second, I began to work at Dorsey High School — my sister and brother-in-law’s high school alma mater. It’s been a wild ride. During my first week of work, there were two shootings. One occurred at the park nearby the school. The other occurred at the basketball game. I haven’t attended a high school ball game since the 1990s.

In September, my contract with Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate Home Services expired. Now, I am a referral agent. Luckily, I don’t have to pay any dues. Also, I made about five or six Real Estate related videos.

My YouTube subscriber count rose to 545 as of today. YouTube changed their monetization rules, too. I’m closer to monetization than ever, however, creating content that is viewed for hours is a challenge. I’ll keep with it though.

Finally, I saw the movie Oppenheimer. Years ago, going to the movies was a worthwhile activity. Nowadays a visit to the movies is rare. Oh! Following the Thanksgiving holiday, I bought a TV. I went to Best Buy and selected an LG 65″ UHD television. They mistakenly put a Samsung 65″ television in my car. I didn’t realize the mistake until I got home, and set up the TV. There are some differences between each model, however, it’s not worth it replacing the television. Here’s how the two TVs compare. Firstly, 90% is the same, but, the Samsung creates an image from the side of the TV. The LG model creates the image from the center. The LG model is listed as regularly priced at $599. The Samsung model is regularly listed at $479. The Black Friday price of the LG model was $399. The Samsung model was discounted only $50. In light of the different prices, I think the LG model is superior. However, I like the Samsung devices. I preferred Samsung devices even when I lived in South Korea.

The King Pleasure exhibit ends January 1. The exhibit was initially shown in New York City in 2022. I went to NYC to see the exhibit under the impression that it would not come to Los Angeles. I interviewed Jean Michel Basquiat’s school friend and fellow artist, Al Diaz. I think I should have asked him more questions about his current projects. I don’t think he was annoyed by me. Also, it was a learning experience. So, when the exhibit came to Los Angeles, I attended at least two of their events including a panel discussion and Halloween party. After the panel discussion, I got to see the Basquiat family dance and celebrate Jean-Michel’s exhibit. That was a fun night. Come Wednesday, I will have my book signed by the sisters, Lisane and Jeanine. In preparation, I printed four copies of my artwork catalog. Hopefully, the sisters will find my book interesting and read it. It’s short and may impress them. The part about Jean Michel Basquiat painting a premonition of Nipsey Hussle is worth the read. I think.
