This is Kanye’s Dave Chappelle moment. This is Kanye standing up for what he believes in — freedom of speech. Albeit, he’s inarticulate, and not well-read. In another light, he is true to his title of his debut album — a college dropout. His hate speech is inexcusable, but if his misguided and ill-informed opinions are what he values most then let it be. The company’s should rightfully be upset and ditch him at every turn. And the carnage will grow. The Black community should not make excuses for him. He’s a disappointment and not suited to be a leader. Chappelle walked away from $50M. The circumstances were different, and the principles were different as well. But, the idea that a man can walk away from money or that a man can self-sabotage his empire because he feels it limits his freedoms, well, that just shows that money cannot make one happy. … He needs to re-enroll in college. He needs to build an empire with other Black celebrities. He needs to shut up.
